Bra (Br'a in Piedmont) is a city in the province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, North West. It is located 50 km south of Turin, 50 km northeast of Cuneo in the region of the famous Roero.
Bra is the birthplace of the feminist philosopher Adriana Cavarero politician Emma Bonino, and activist Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food, and the first university of gastronomic sciences in the world, with its head office located within the municipal boundaries bra Pollenzo. Good is also the home of "cheese", a biennial international festival organized by Slow Food, which provides manufacturers of artisan cheeses from around the world. In 1997 the event attracted around 150,000 visitors.
